About Us

Wedding photography was something that my wife and I never considered. During my wife's senior year of college, she was tasked with collecting 40 hours worth of data of an animal of her choice at the Columbus Zoo. She selected the Gorilla’s, not only because she found them to be one of the most entertaining to watch, but because they had an indoor habitat. The weather during January was going to be at or below freezing and who would want to stand outside for several hours of the day in the cold weather? She took quite the fascination with a popular Silver-back Gorilla named Macombo, who is still thriving at the Zoo. During one of her visits, she decided she wanted to have a picture of him and thus our love of photography was born.

So how did we go from taking photographs of animals at a Zoo to Weddings? This was a fluke and a surprise that happened roughly 3 years ago with many landscape photography mixed in beforehand. My best friend, who is also a professional wedding photographer, had accidentally double-booked 2 weddings on the same day. He called and asked if I could shoot one of the weddings and I believe my reaction was something like, “are you serious?” I had never shot a wedding before, so we quickly got to work. For practice, he suggested that I be his second shooter at Eleanor and Elias’ Wedding, so that I could get a feel for everything a Wedding required. If I found out that I could photograph them with ease, then I could then shoot his double-booked Wedding by myself. I came away with a considerable amount of appreciation for a completely different side of photography that my wife and I were not used to. I made the decision to go for it and asked my wife if she would be my second shooter. To photograph someone’s special day with my wife by my side is “icing on the cake.”
